That's BS. My bike has sat for a whole 2-3 weeks without a start and it starts up beautifully.
Mine sits for a month or more at a time between the times my wife starts it for me...starts great each time, no battery tender.
The battery is pretty small to keep the weight down. A battery tender will definitely help. If that doesn't cut it then you will probably need a new battery. I think batteries of that size are typically only good for a few years anyway. I have the same bike and the battery turns the bike over, but it is not like it has tons of juice. Just enough to get the job done.

same here, the bike sat for more than a month and started right up
you should go back to dealership and ask for a new battery, wtf - new bike with dead battery:shoot:
do remember however, that the 08 bikes sound different when starting up...the starter sounds like it is dragging or the bat is low...but it may not be...they all sound like they are turning over slowly when compared to other bikes, even other hondas...just a thought...
