I'm not trying to jinx anyone. I am thinking about buying one and was just wondering if the issue has been solved.please don't jinx, i can not live that all over again.
500 miles done, next week i'm going for the first oil change, oil level on the stick is just fine.
Any idea on the numbers or a thread with that info?I thought it was only a number (range of frame numbered) 08s that had the issue?
It was one ofthe rumours going around at one time. How true it is im notsure.Any idea on the numbers or a thread with that info?
Joe
they went with the dip stick, so people can check the oil level by themselves sitting on the bike.I wonder why Honda went with the Dip stick oil check method? the window type was so good, Atleast I still have it on the 08 600rr
Total bullshit & an 'old-wives' tale.Asked Mechanic what that was all about and his opinion was breaking in with synthetic didn't allow rings to seal.(Still reading 2009 CBR1000RR official oil burning thread to find out anything conclusive)
complete bullshit. defect causes oil burning. nothing to do will oil or how you break it in.Funny that last comment about synthetic oil not allowing the rings to seal. I have some 14,000 k on my 08 and honda Australia have put Honda mineral back in it to test the oil burning over 1000k. Mechanic said the same thing
