Had this issue with the T-rex stand. Not t-Rex's fault, the stand was purchased for an 06 600rr and I was trying to use it on my 15. Couldn't figure out why the lift was hitting underneath the front fairing before it would lift the bike by the triple tree. Luckily I just didn't try to force it or it would have done some damage.
Contacted T-rex who generously sent me the correct pin free of charge for my '15 and no issues since.
I have ZXR7RR WSBK triples and forks that were on my RZV500 and the steering stem is huuuuge, I was a sent ZX7R pin and had a very similar incident occur, luckily I had race fiberglass fairing so the crack was easily repaired. :(

Are you happy with trex lift? I use a lot of their stuff. I actually just ordered one.

If I were to buy a new stand right now it would be a pitbull. I love my pit bull stands

I have a 15 year old T-rex set of front and rear stands so I'm sure they have improved the design over these past years.

Both stands have held up well, are extremely stable, and are a good design overall
Only real issue I've had is the wheels coming off while I'm putting the stand under the bike. They have 2 wheels on each side so it's not a huge deal but it scares the bejesus out of you when it happens.

T-Rex has excellent customer service and support of their products in my personal experiences and I have frame, front and rear axle, and rear axle adjustment block sliders from them as well

FYI - if you are in the market for rear axle sliders their magnetic type are a game changer. I highly recommend them.
I think I actually have a set for the SC77 brand new somewhere if anyone is interested
