Have to figure, it's a brand-new moto, bound to be a few snags early on, along the way.

Also learnt from Honda UK that there is another recall for these bikes, this time for: 'Improper tightening of oil pan bolts.'

Seems there's been some leakage onto rear wheel. Scheduled check time is 45 mins, BUT if there's a problem (warped pan) there could be a 4-hour job involved cos the headers etc have to come off to replace the pan.

Mine's booked in for next Tuesday. I'll update as required.
Gels with my original tidbit of insider gossip that the rods were replaced because Honda was caught with cheater parts vs actual homologated parts - so all first batch engines were opened and tinkered with to get the new rods all out and installed.

They just forgot to put them all back together properly.

But of course just rumors as always.

Yeah, maybe, but why do us Brit and Euro guys have to be the 'test bed' for our USA enthusiasts!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Because you get the 20 HP that Honda left on the ship coming to America :)

EDIT. Sorry, I thought I had quoted a post above. This is in response to Nigeirb's oil filter post above

I have been in several Chinese factories that make products for U.S. manufacturers. When they are making products to specs for other companies they are very capable of making quality products.

It's when they are manufacturing products under labels that nobody has ever heard of that you need to be concerned.

The factories we were in had little or no automation. The low cost was all about cheap labor and zero safety laws to deal with for the workers. But they did have quality control checks where mandated by reputable companies they were manufacturing for.

First service done and recall check was pan bolt torque all fine. Time to stretch this bike's legs!

Sorry guys. I've entered the 'sedate' stage of life. Also, I'm a wuss and pamper my bikes too much. I'd hate to put them, and me, under so much stress!!:(😇
Just give it some throttle and let wheelie control take over
