A Real Race Taylor Made Review

I wanted to share my taylor made experience with everyone here. I recently got a new bike and had the taylor made exhaust for the 08 cbr so i took that off before i got rid of the bike. When it came off my 08 bike there was a piece that broke off of the carbon fiber trim piece. I used epoxy to put it back together and it was all good. so last night when i was installing the pipe on my 09 cbr and basically the pipe was just not fitting on right and it was not going on the pipe far enough, it was loose and the carbon fiber piece was not even close to fitting. I left the pipe on and just put the trim piece down and leave it off.

I decided to call taylor made this morning and I was put on the phone with PAUL TAYLOR himself!!! He told me what the problem was and how i could fix it. I said that i was about an hour away from Van Nuys, CA where their office is. He said if I rode the bike over there then he would fix it himself. I raced up to van nuys through all the LA traffic and got to the shop. I talked to Mr. Taylor and we immediately put the bike on the stand and we started wrenching on it. The main problem was that the stock muffler's metal ring did not come off of the main pipe and was blocking the pipe from going on all the way. We removed that and slipped the pipe back on and I showed him the carbon trim piece and he immediately threw it away and had his crew prep a brand new one for me and get it all ready. We installed the trim and it fit perfectly. Now the pipe looks better than ever and sounds amazing. I put the taylor made map in and the bike is so responsive.

I really wanted to share this experience with you guys because i want to tell everyone that taylor made products are backed by the owner and creator himself. Each piece really is hand made ( I saw the carbon fiber fabrication part of the shop). I have never received such great customer service in my life. THANK YOU MR. TAYLOR

Paul is a great guy and a quiet genius...

Glad to hear somebody appreciate the personal touch that Taylormade customers receive...and the quality of the product...
That's pretty damn cool. i love the way the Taylor Made looks, a bit loud though (sounds based off buddies 08 gsxr-1000)
It's great to see customer service in action. Thank you for sharing your experience.
thats a pretty cool experience right there meeting the man himself...
cool...i have taylormade on my bike here in oz and it gets so many comments
Great Story! To Bad California is 3000+ miles away.
That's cool.
Thats a great story, I wish that kind of stuff happened more often. Does the Taylormade exaust really sound loud compared to other aftermarket systems. I'm ready to pull the trigger on one today?
I spoken with Paul on the phone on a couple of different occasions. Great Guy!!

Ya I think it is a great sound, not too loud where it is obnoxious (or enough to get you pulled over) but it has a nice throaty rumble to it (especially when you open up the throttle). I havent heard many other pipes to compare it too though
Yeah I talked with him on the phone about a missing piece from my fender eliminator kit. They sent it out right away and sent out another brake light LED free of charge since the wires came out. They seem cool, even though I had issues with their brake light.
That is a great story with great customer service. Where is the video or more pictures?
Paul's great as is the entire staff/crew.

Here's the very first 2008 CBR1000RR system.

that is beautiful
how much did that cost you

A guy named Oz Kirkham from the Monterey area did it but I had the whole bike done so the cost of the panel alone would be a mystery...but he just left the state and moved to North Carolina...don't know if he's going to continue painting because of his new job...

You can get anyone with decent skills to paint yours...the key is matching your Repsol color...and getting the right decal sizes...

I placed the decals before the clearcoat... You would need to order another kit from Honda (smaller decals), or have someone make you a custom set...my layout scheme copies the MotoGP bike almost exactly except for the Taylormade decal.

Here's the Taylormade Hugger ready to mount up as well... love the shape of this beauty....
