Aloha folks! My last bike had no electronics or even ABS so the R SP is my first bike with any rider controlled electronics. While using the auto blipper function, do you cut throttle or leave it open like you do for up shifts? Owner’s manual says to leave it open (vague) but dealer says to cut throttle when downshifting.
I don't see anywhere in the manual where it instructs the operator to have the throttle open on downshifts. I've owned my SP since April 2017 and downshifting works best with the throttle closed.
🤦🏽 Dear lord, I’ve read page 114 half a dozen times and I’d have sworn on the Bible the word “upshifting” was never there. In all my excitement I’ve regressed to a 2nd grade reading comprehension level. This is rather embarrassing.

I almost exclusively use the quickshifter on my 2018 CBR. For me it works surprisingly well at almost all rpm and throttle combinations. I am guessing the RR-R's QS is as good or even better.
And yea throttle closed for downshift, throttle open for upshift. That's the only way.
