Hey guys 2017 CBR1000RR standard non-abs, sent out my ECU to be flashed by Danos with the following options

Optimize fuel curves across all gear ( same as a Power Commander)
Optimize ignition curves across all gears (remove RPM & throttle based ignition restrictions)
Disable pair valve
Reset radiator fan turn on/off temperature (205 / 195 )
Disable top speed limiter
Remove throttle plate restrictions
Disable exhaust valve
Disable deceleration fuel cut

I also advised I was getting the quickshifter, graves slip-on exhaust and PAIR mod with block off plates. He said no problem, he would throw a tune on there based on the upgrades and ship it back. As advised, upon receipt, install ECU, run the bike for 5ish minutes then go ahead with the upgrades. After installing exhaust, blockoff plates, removing pair valve and quickshifter I had it dyno'd and was not impressed with the results which read 32 HP behind the Danos website Dyno.

I would love to hear your guys' feedback

Wow looks like he forgot to flash it, and just sent back your stock ecu!

Let him know, I'm sure he will rectify this.

The air fuel mixture all off, runs lean then at higher rpm to rich, looks like it was not flashed, that stock horsepower numbers.

You should probably be calling him tomorrow, and get this straightened out.
My moto went to full zoot, with no longer any flat spots, zero complaints.
i’ve never heard anything like this before about his tunes, obviously a mistake was made.

Oouch, something had to of gone wrong with the flash process.. I am assuming you do not have any issues related to trouble codes on the bike? Also a pic of the bike, so we can check out the graves exhaust! ;)

Nope, I shopped local (y)
After my flash I get 2nd gear wheel lift in Mode 3 (P5, T8) and the only other "performance" mod is exhaust flapper cable disconnect. 😮

That’s wonderful that you can wheelie your moto, so can most everyone else with most any ecu flash.
I shopped locally given I live a trans global existence. I have Dan’s ecu flash in my SP, I can assure you, it meets my expectations fully.
I keep it in one mode: Go Fast anywhere that’s needed.

They can do a 2nd gear wheelie merely by rolling on the throttle in Mode 3 (P5, T8)? See, I don't keep it in mode 3, I was just experimenting to see how much more power the engine was producing even when dialed back significantly. I played with all the modes including User 1 and 2. (y) 🏍

Danos uses Woolich which is a tried, tested, and true ECU flash software package and Danos has an excellent reputation.

I would assume there was either a mistake with your specific ECU or something else is going on.

Contact Danos, I'm sure they will get it sorted quickly.

I don't need a mode either. I was just putting the engine at a disadvantage to see what it could do in a weakened state compared to the US spec OEM ECU at full power. 🤘😎🤘

Dyno on an SC77 without flashing out the Front Wheel Speed Sensor will give unpredictable results.
What power mode was the bike in?
Any torque map with rpm or could they not get an RPM signal?

I have seen this happen before where a dyno operator has Woolich software on hand and flashes out the Front Wheel speed Sensor not realizing he/she has just returned the ECU to stock at the same time.

More detail around the dyno setup would be helpful (y)

On these bikes if you don't disable the front wheel speed sensor the ecu goes into a limp mode and as a result the throttle plates don't open to 100% at full throttle.In order to get accurate horsepower reads on a dyno you will need to first disable the front wheel speed sensor which can only be done via flashing the ecu.Unless you have the Woolich Racing hardware to do this or your dyno guy has the hardware you horsepower readings will be low. WOW, thanks for the reply Danos, I will run this information by my local performance shop that did the Dyno and see about more details here. I am fairly certain he did not disable the front wheel sensor as the bike had the CEL on and had to be cleared when I was picking it up. He had mentioned it was because of the traction control during the dyno.

The CEL was on when I picked up, guy had said it was from the dyno and the front wheel speed sensor which was addressed by RC45 and Danos himself as a potential cause for lack of performance.

and for sure I will post up a pic when I get done with work.

wheel lift...I need to get on mine and see if that will happen after this flash. Did not have anytime last night after picking it up to try and open the throttle more than a little on surface streets

Initial feedback based on the ride home from the shop which was 6pm traffic on surface streets for about 8 miles, not much of a chance to open it up.

Throttle response felt much improved, acceleration felt the same, although I did not really get a chance to open it up
Engine braking is greatly reduced
Quickshifter = amazing and that autoblip, no words
Graves exhaust sound = instant boner

What Preset Mode (Mode 1, Mode 2 or Mode 3) were you in? Or if in User 1 or User 2 what EB (engine braking) level was selected?

The ECU (and Honda Total Control) system is intended to have 3 discrete and discernible levels of Engine Braking available. EB1 beign the most noticeable engine braking and EB3 the least noticeable engine braking.

If you set up User 1 or User 2 with EB1 then EB2 and EB3, do you still noticeable a distinct difference between the EB levels?

Which Graves did you go with? I added the Titanium slip-on 5 minutes after reinstalling the ecu wt Dan’s flash, couldn’t ask for a better sound combo, every time I start the SP up, I’m in a happy place. 35D4ADBC-E38B-42C3-B053-7E8B629A25B0.jpeg
