So what sounds better for a slip on, M4 or Yosh. Is one better than the other as far a quality?

click my link in my sig for a cool cbr slip-on

on another site there is a sound clip too
I think the M4 sounds better. I don't know if there is a big difference but there is a guy with an R1 with an M4 around my neighborhood, and it sounds freakin nuts. It's ridiculously loud.
i was looking for taylormade slip ons but all i can find is a pipe for 08/09 cbrs not 07. Any ideas?
Hi,

Wish I had pics of mine...it's just cut about three inches behind the EGCV...took the muffler off...have a tag holder that sits directly in front of the open exhaust pipe...you can't even see an "exhaust outlet" unless you hunt for it... :)

It's loud...as in you don't start the bike until you've put your helmet on and closed the face mask...then it's bareable. The bottom end is very tame now...but it recovers at 5k and pulls nicely from there :) :) :)

Now I got to find an exhaust tip to direct the exhaust gas downward cause the heat is melting the plastic beneath the seat...maybe just put some Cool-It tape to insulate?

Happy motoring!

if your looking for a slip on the 3 best and im sure most will agree with me are Arata, Akro, and Leo Vince. These 3 have the best sound and performance and they are the best quality out there.

I have a slightly use Yosh slip-on pipe i can have a custom muffler made for that pipe for you as a complete set

maybe $425 shipped
Don't talk with me...I'm not a vendor on this site... and it would violate site rules...

taylormade no longer makes the 04-07 exhaust. last i heard it would take 15-20 people to get them to make another run.

Had all 3 ..
L/V best by far performance vise . . in my case, if I may ...
I do like all of those 3 but i cant find decent deals on them anywhere. Anyone know a good arata or akro dealer? Also i kind of like the way the yosh looks cause it doesn t have a turn down on the end.

Yosh sucks. Spend the extra loot and get yourself an exhaust you are going to be happy with for a long time. Hit up the number in my sig and ask him for a deal. If not I know there is an oval style Arata for sale in the for sale section. It come out a little crooked(it's just not centered) but performance and quality are second to none.
Why do you say yoshi sucks, is it just bad quality or do they sound like shit?

Just not one of the better pipes for our bikes. They work for some and quite possibly on the 08 but just not on the 04-07's. There are however people that swear by them, I just do not care for them. Quality isn't the best and the horsepower gains aren't all that either. In all seriousness though it is your bike and you can put what you want on it but I would go with, in no order.

Arata
Akra
Sato(if you can find one)
Arrow
Leo Vince

There are some others out there that are pretty good but these are my favorites.

The Arata that is for sale here is close to a 200 dollar savings or more.
ya i am seriously considering that arata i just wish i could see what one looks like in person. I have also heard good things about sato the only problem is price.
I have the jardine rt-1 carbon fiber on my 07 looks great and sounds awesome and performance seems good
it looks good. Hows it sound? I heard they are verry loud.
All aftermarket exhaust suck compared to cutting off the muffler while leaving the EGCV in place (putting in a cheap baffle if you are sensative)...installing an aftermarket 0.018 inch head gasket (12.7 compression in a 06-07)...and a 14 tooth front sproket...then a Speedohealer if you care to know if you are commiting a felony. These mods are only for the hardcore though cheap...as in less than $250 total :)

Remember...bike manufactures have to meet EPA standards for noise and polution...these all rob HP. Most people over look the fact gearing is set HIGH to reduce emissions (ie...spin fewer rpms to reduce output of the exhaust at cruising speeds).

In essence...to go fast you have to call the Director of the EPA and tell him to suck on deez nutz! More compression in the motor and exhaust flowing out (with minimum O2 values)...more power and speed...really all you need to focus on.
