Hi.

I am looking on new tires for Yamaha R6.
I am street racer (out of the city), but I also go on track days.
Until now I used Battlax 016

I am deciding between
Battlax BT-003 (SM)
Battax BT-003 (M)
or
Batllax BT-003RS

I would love to try the Battlax BT-003 (M), the race tyre, but I am not sure if this will be also suitable for the street.

Can anybody tell me how are the BT-003 (M) on the street?

Thanks Jiri

I haven't ridden on the DOT's on the street so I can't comment on that but I can say that the 003 RS's are awesome. If you are looking to move up from the bt-016's and don't mind the shorter life of the RS's, I would say go for it!

Shit which one?
BT-003RS would be much better for the street. The BT-003 is way to soft to get any sort of mileage out of.
Depends on your where you ride the most and what you want...

Great traction at the track and crummy mileage on the street OR so-so track traction and good mileage.

I personally go w/ a full race tire, and accept the wear when I (seldom) ride around on the street.
from what i was told from brad when i was up in the air between the two, the 003's require you to get them much hotter, where as the 003rs dont require as much heat to reach optimum erformance, BUT if the 003rs' get too hot they will get greasy faster,
really depends on your riding
Get the RS, the 003 will require more heat and also will wear more easliy on the street
"require more heat"

I don't think that's the best way to say that.

*thinking*
Good thing we have a GB going on these right now! Check it out in the GB section of the website: http://www.1000rr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=64843
i am planning my first track day and was thinking about getting 003rs.
ill be using the 003 medium dot race next weekend, ill give a full report. and compare them to the dragon supercorsa mediums that i have been using.

"Street Racer" isn't that an oxymoron? Or just moronic?

"Race" at the track - "Ride" on the street

Tell that to these guys!

those isle of man races are freaking insane...damn id love to go over there and see one.
I ran my DOT BT003's on the track and then the street. Great track tire, poor street tire (I prefer my BT002's). Race tires require a lot of heat to work properly and it is very difficult to get them to proper operating temp even with very aggressive street riding. I would push the front and spin the rear easily, my 002's are like riding on rails.
Are you referring to the DOT race spec or the RS´s? My concern is to use the BT 003 RS, an otherwise excellent hyper-sport tire in dry conditions, in the street, due to unavoidable onset of wet conditions at anytime. Regards,
