Clutch slipping after recall service

I bought my 08 SE today. they did the clutch recall on spot. i had a 3 hour ride home, and it wasnt until about half way that i got on it at all. the clutch is slipping a little bit at about 6k and up. sometimes it slips a little, sometimes it is a 5000 rpm slip. could the clutch just be setting itself and will go back to normal? or was the install done wrong?

wrong
Take it back, they didn't finish the job.
its happened to me personally, and many others too. they need to do the install right, and not how the instructions tell them.
I had mine done and it worked fine. The mechanic was good! I would take it back, but it sucks you are 3 hours away! See if the dealer will compensate you for your time and gas.

My notice has been sitting on the counter for >1 month.

This recall sounds like a total crap shoot  (way to go Honda) & since I am not having any clutch issues, this is a low priority.

Same here. I've been debating on whether or not to get this recall done. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
there's a bunch of threads on this. some of the replacement kits that were sent out will slip if installed by the instructions. the mechanic needs to be competent enough to know what needs to be done. i had both of ours done and neither of them slips. the new clutch is definitely worth it for those who are contemplating it. just make sure you don't have some idiot mechanic doing the work.

to the OP, take it back, they're obligated to fix it
This might be a mute point but I wouldn't tell the dealer you took it over 6 grand on the way home...I mean there's a breakin period where you're supposed to go easy on her. Might not matter, but dealers can be dicks about shit like that yaknow
I thought the update instructions were flawed for the early kits but Honda straighten that out. The wrench needs to install the washer correctly.
I just had my clutch update yesterday, 17,000 miles. It acts and feels totally different. Smoother take offs from dead stop, much smoother when shifting and less vibrations. Downshifting, there is a big lag in the rpms coming back up. Slipping? 4th gear 165 mph..awesome.
The bike gets REAL smooth when the clutch isn't engaging!!!
