Did you found out what the error means and did you solve it? I have the same error now.

I have a error 2 in my log. Even after reset it comes back when I start the engine. Any idea what this means and what might be the cause of it?

DTC 2 is related to the MAP sensor:
MAP sensor performance problem
• Loose or poor connection of the MAP sensor vacuum hose
• MAP sensor malfunction

Here's what the service manual says for trouble shooting:
DTC 2-1
(MAP SENSOR)
1. MAP Sensor System Inspection
Check the MAP sensor with the MCS at idle speed.
Is the reading changed?
YES – Intermittent failure
NO – GO TO STEP 2.

2. Manifold Absolute Pressure Test
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check for connection of the MAP sensor vacuum
hose (page 7-11).
Is the vacuum hose connection correct?
YES – GO TO STEP 3.
NO – Install the vacuum hose correctly.

3. MAP Sensor System Inspection
Replace the MAP sensor with a known good one
(page 4-80).
Check the MAP sensor with the MCS at idle speed.
Is the reading changed?
YES – Faulty original MAP sensor
NO – Replace the ECM with a known good one,
and recheck (page 4-72).

Found the issue. The hose is not connected.
The engine had a repair and now the hose is missing. The garage is closed now, any idea where this hose should come from?
Hose comes from 5-way T-joint that measures intake-manifold vacuum from each cylinder. 5th nipple on T goes to MAP sensor.

Thanks. Although I'm not so new already one year a member on this forum. But I don't post much.

I ride a CBR 1000RR 2019 on the track.

There are 2 T sections. But both 5th nipples go to the back and below the engine. They are both connected and also the other 4 go to each cilinder.

That's why I'm "missing" a hose.

Found the correct hose. It was not connected to the sensor. But I still keep the DTC2 error while correctly connected. Also the 2 larger air box hoses are correct.

When the engine is off and I check current DTC errors it is empty. Starting the engine it takes about +/- 10 seconds for the error to appear. While at first is came up imidiatly when the engine started like <1 second. So connecting the hose made a difference. I did notice that the airbox has no seal in the middle. Could this cause the same error to?

What I also have is that the left indicator is blinking fast and I can't turn it off.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps not airbox. It's before throttle bodies, so never experiences much vacuum. Leaks there won't affect vacuum after throttle-plates.

Follow test-procedure from manual to troubleshoot MAP-sensor circuit:

  • ground wire continuity
  • reference 5v line
  • sensor output signal
  • test for shorts
  • MAP-sensor output voltage at idle
  • MAP-sensor output voltage at 3000rpm

Last 2 tests I usually do 1st. Then if values aren't proper, I do other tests to see where error may be. A lot of times, it's loose or corroded connectors. Or loose or broken wires. I suspect "expert" mechanic that did those vacuum hoses may have monkeyed with MAP sensor or its wiring.

Need to measure it at ECU connector by back-probing. Tiny thin probes to follow wire through seal.
