I have over 86,000 miles on my '07 1000R, always used EBC sintered, good to go, rain or shine. I would not go with cheap, low cost CHICOM knock offs. Another bit of brake related advice is CLEAN YOUR calipers in-between pad changes. My front brakes were dragging really badly, cleaned the pistons, put back the same pads, everything back to normal.

Yup, I totally agree with this.
Most people just slap the new pads in and call it a day.
Servicing the brakes includes cleaning the pistons.
