Replaced my footpegs. Right lower bolt sheared off 1st 1/4in of threads & was very hard to screw in only after I sprayed bolt & hole w/ WD40.
Several times I tried backing out & switching bolts but same result. Upper bolt went in fine. Suspect previous owner used some damn strong LocTite. Anyone ever experience this? Thanks.

I would invest in a tap, and tap the hole because that will clear out all the locktite out of the hole and make it easier to thread

I'm planning on just going up (1) mm IF I ever have to back it out.

I think after you get to 6mm bolt diameter the diameters go up by 2 mm, at least for standard sizes, up to some un-rememberable size.

The stock bolt should be a 8mm. The next size up would probably be 10mm if you really need to over size it. I would definitely try to clean the threads with good tap first and if all is well use some blue locktite
