I know this probably has been asked before. But which full system has provided the biggest performance gain for the '08-'09 1000RR? This doesn't necessarily have to be the greated peak HP, but the seeking the biest overall gain ( HP, Torque, etc...)

Wow!!!??? Do I hear crickets??? Any suggestions or input. I know that Akrapovic, for example is a popular choice for full systems. I had an Akro Evo full system on my '04 for 3 reasons:
1) Very good gains in HP & Torque (10+)
2) Very good wt reduction
3) Very good build quality

The thing about the Akro's for the '08-'09 Blades that I am seeing is that you can still get #2 & #3, but the gains aren't that impressive ( as noted on the Akro website. And they are not cheap.
Most of the "real" dynos post on here are showing about 4-6 bolting on the system and another 4-5 with tuning, so just bolting on a full system is not netting huge gains. That said I went from 157 with z-bomb, to 168 with full arrow, bmc, intake flapper, bazzaz z-fi and tune.
If you don't mind a traditional side exit exhaust look into the Nojima system. Send a pm to LDH from Dan Kyle Racing for more info.

Here is a dyno chart showing four full systems.

These were all dynoed the same day on the same bike, same fuel, etc, etc etc.

The test bike is a "Stock" White body bike.

The White body bike is a Japan only HRC prepared race starter bike.
Meaning they sell these in Japan to people who want to race them, they are not street legal here or there.
It has some engine mods that include an HRC ECU and different cams.

The point of me telling you this is so you are not so concerned about the HP numbers, but concerned with the differences between the exhausts.

There was no Power Commander installed for any of the runs.

Orange Nojima Full all Titanium About $1500

Blue Akrapovic EVO Full Titanium $1649 Retail $2050

Green HRC Ultra Trick Full Titanium Race pipe $3500

Pink Stock White Body bike Exhaust, no cats

The Other Dyno chart is from the Akrapovic web site.

Here is a good comparison of 4 systems:

From what a lot of people have reported, the stock exhaust on the 08+ flows very well. So, you won't see huge gains in slip-ons or full systems. If you do get one, a custom tune and getting rid of the ignition retard (if US spec bike) is what will net you some very nice gains.
You will get a nice weight reduction from a slip-on or full system as the stock muffler is heavy (lose about 10 lbs).
Who's go a picture of an 08 in race trim with one of those Nojima systems? That looks pretty cool.
i don't think they are in the states yet, been a while

i also might have a leo stainless F/S

awful lot of cash for that 11hp!
if you look at that dyno chart you can see that the akra evo made the most hp. that being said, go with the akra race full system. same hp for almost $500 less than the evo system.

best bang for the buck full system imo.

I tend to agree with you. But the indicated gains on th low end & midrange from the Nojima Full Ti system also look very good, also. Availability is probably an issue.

true and false.

a full system is designed more for upper rpm running. i.e. track riding, racing on the track or street, etc.

if you are doing these things, then the vast majority of your time will be spent above 8k rpm.
Is the Arata not a good choice for the 08-09 cbrs compared to the others?

Yes and no, I got a smoking deal on the Arrow from Brad, so just over a grand for 11HP. Had everything gone full price ya. But vendors on this site saved me some serious coin.

Arata is great, just high dollar, they make a full length system that should make very competitive power.

Also the bike shown on that dyno is misleading, as it has cams, not street legal here in the US or there, and notice the power curve does not look like any CBR sold here, that being said mine made 100 HP at 7000 rpm, so you have to look at more than just the 4 systems, how many of us run cams on the street?
whats the difference between the EVO and full race system?

EVO is titantium headers and more $. Race is stainless steel headers and less $.
EVO is titantium headers and more $. Race is stainless steel headers and less $.
Two questions:

1) Is it just the headers that are stainless on the Akro Race system (meaning that the can is Ti)?

2) Do you still lose a noticeable amount of wt. compared to stock on the Akro Race system?
