Did you just get your bike? I had a recall on the gas tank but like a year and a half ago or so.
Oh shyt. First i heard of it.
Yeah, this was probably a year or two ago. Just take it to the nearest dealership, free of charge.
Honda just sent out the recall notice again to those of you that didnt have the tank inspected/changed out according to their records.
Yeah, I got one too. I just haven't gotten around to bringing it in yet.

Anyone know how long it's supposed to take?
I took mine in last year and they wanted to keep it for a dew days, can't really remeber but it was rediclous so I said the hell with it. It runs I smell no gas and it hasn't caught in fire so I'm good:) lol. If it does I'll get get an 09:thumbsup:
I just got mine yesterday also, but I just registered this bike in the last 4 months, so I guess when you regisiter it (new title) the vin is flagged, and you get the notice.

when i had mine done, i made an appt with my shop. drove it in...waited an hour or so...left with a clean bill of health, full tank of fuel and new helmet!
Ok, when I got this bike I followed the link in the sticky about this recall and my VIN checked out ok. Just called the stealership and he logged into the "honda site" while we were on the phone and said my bike hasn't had the fix, bring it in. So either honda has expanded the recall, or the owners link is wrong. If you get the notice call for an appointment, he said about 1 hour to fix.
I had mine done a couple years ago. The dealership was ready for it so it took about an hour. I would call your dealership ahead of time do they can get the part, unless you feel like leaving your bike for a few days.

Yea thats what i am saying plus im anal i like to be the only one working on my bike.
Just got my bike at the end of last riding season and got a recall notification in the mail yesterday also. Haven't decided if I'm going to take it in or not
Got the letter but Ill be dammed if they are touching my bike. Have to see if I can just bring int he tank
Brought mine in last year and they ended up replacing the tank.
I guess I got a bad one.
got the 2nd notice too. still haven't taken it in. they told me last year that it would only take an hour or so. i said cool. then they said, but we don't keep the parts on hand so it'll take about 2 weeks. YIKES!!!! and they won't order it until mines off (WTF is that about) so when there's at least 1 month of bad weather/or no track day's (DECEMBER) i may take it to get done. hope they notify me again before then, or i'll forget Again!
i just got a freakin notice and my dealer said it was done.....the punch mark is on there but.....would they do that without checkng /replacing the tank?......i checked out the vent bung it looks great.......ima call honda and then my dealer tommoroow

that doesn't sound reasonable....call Honda to confirm they have to take the old tank off before ordering the new tank
had mine done about a year ago when i was having it serviced
