shinko is well know in the drag scene, but you won't find any knee draggers running them
I have an 003 it's been a great commuter tire with the occasional blast up the mountain. I would not buy them if you use allot of RPM cornering they slide pretty easy. I only have the rear with 4000 miles so far about half gone.
Friend of mine (f4i) took it for street, he told me its soft & good tire for commute.
pure and simple, don't ride shinko. They don't stick for shit.
I wanna say I saw one of those tires at the local dealership. it was priced about $30 less than the other tires. Just remember you get what you pay for.
I went out for a ride with a friend who is also an ex-racer on his 07 600RR & he was running Shinko's - I could not believe it. He said he loves them, and they work great on the street. I do not know what model, but he was hauling ass & I was dumbfounded. He has a Penske shock & Traxxion front-end with cartridges.

i'm gonna have to call bullshit on this one...if you're refering to the 003 as far as drag racing goes anyway.......went 9.69 1/4 mile at stock length on one

read from above.. clearly stated that these are made for drag racing which is what you were doing, they don't stick for shit in corners.:popcorn2:
I thought the search button still worked around here? Anybody try it lately? Its looking a little dusty I guess not.

That's not a good comparison... they belong to different world. Shinko are made for drag racing for stock bikes class (street or strip), otherwise, go MICKY
Has anyone personally tried the Shinko's? (non-drag) Or just bashing cuz it's not a big 4?

Have you guys read this review?

I'd be interested to hear someones impression who has taken a serious ride on the 005's
Just 003 rear, mostly because nobody really had tried them. same as this 005 thread.
I said it once and I'll say it again. I ran the 5's and they fucking suck. The 3's are much better from what I hear, but if you want a cheaper tire with good stick for the street try the BT-016. Some people love em, some hate em. I think for the street you can't beat em.
I stand corrected someone has tried them, and bt-016 are next.
Word to the wise: If you do get the 16's pay close attention to the numbering. There are OEM 16's that come on ZX-10's and I believe some zuks, they are NOT the tire you want. The easiest way to tell is the tire will be labeled 190/55R J or some shit like that. Don't get the ones with the letter behind the number. They don't have the same compound and aren't anywhere near the traction level of the production tire.

An example
Go to this link and try to select a tire size. You'll notice the tires with the OEM code following the number.

A friend of mine has the 005"s on his 07 GSXR 1K...have yet to really ride with him since he got them, but will be able to report back after this weekend if the weather holds up.
