I'm John, based in Thailand. I'll be picking up a new 2019 SP tomorrow, caught it on a nice discount.

Looking forward to hitting the tracks and some twisties.

Welcome. Those are pretty pricey there, no?

A buddy of mine lives in Thailand and I thought he told me the price goes up drastically over a certain size.

Congrats on the new bike

Bikes are expensive in Thailand, the SP is a slightly better deal than some (s1000rr and R1m cost +25% more). The cost of living is pretty low overall.

The SP is imported from Japan, restricted to 130bhp. I'll sort that out after a few thousand km.

Today's ride was a bit of an anticlimax. 22km into the ride (just getting out of the horrible Bangkok traffic), the engine warning light came on. Rode back to the dealer, turns out it had a faulty ignition coil connector from the factory. They need to replace it, parts need to come from their warehouse, so 2-3 days before I get the bike back.
