Why did Honda switch to a hydraulic clutch on the 1000RR?

Couldn't tell you....but I kinda like the fact you don't have to adjust it.

Heavy clutch springs to withstand the torque translate into popeye forearms with a cable clutch, hydralic is easier on the average rider. Same as the RC-51, TL1000R etc, etc,

How do you change it. mine is rather black now

It's supposed to be, don't worry about it yet, but basically the same as changing brake fluid.
