I do not see these numbers or letters on the side of the ignition. Mine is a 2012. Help please.
Lost key help.
Can anyone confirm that the key code is on the ignition before I take it apart? I lost my key I'm the second owner so I didn't get a spare or the key code tab. Yes I search before I started this thread. Anyways I went to the dealer with the title they said they couldn't make a key off the vin number. Checked with a locksmith they want 100 to 150 bucks an my bike for a few hours.

I looked into a dealer replacement and saw that the price was like 200 dollars. There are blank BMW keys all over ebay. I was wondering if I could simply buy one of these and get it cut to match or is there something more to a key than that. One listing mentioned something about codes that the key sends to the car computer.Then i decide to contact *********** They are best lcksmiths.
Bring your title into dealer they can cut you a key or get you a key code that a Locksmith can use to make you your key.Remove ignition lock and take it to ************* and they will make you a key.

Works for all years? Mine is 2015 and I lost my keys too!!!Just to let everybody know the key code is on the side of the ignition. If you turn the steering all the way to the left. With a good flash light and a magnifying glass you dont even need to take anything apart you can see the key code. Got my replacement keys today.
