Hey Guys,
I just bought a swingarm for my 06 1000 (blue/yellow) and I'm looking to have it power coated black. I'd it to match the frame, clutch cover, & stator cover as much as possible. The place I'm going to have it done says they have 3 kinds of black. Gloss Black, Satin Black, & Flat Black. What do you guys think will be the closest match ?

Thanks

Flat or satin but I would go with the gloss all depends on what you like
you think the frame and covers are a gloss?
Thats what I was leaning towards...
anyone else?
throw out the gloss idea cuz its not that. just ask the company if they have a sample to differ between satin and flat. they should have some kind of idea to tell u. if not take ur bike there and have them show the guy who is going to be doing the job and have him decide which he thinks would match better. he'd have the best idea considering thats what he does for a living  GL with it hope that helps ya
I'd ask the painter to recommend whatever he thinks will match best. Then ship it to me once your finished so I can make sure it looks good enough for ya.
Survey Says!!! Satin is a perfect match. That's what i did everything on my 600RR and 1000RR.
Ahh, I went the easy way and ordered a factory black 07 swing arm from ebay for 135 shipped for my blue and yellow.

Either way thanks for the info, cause now I will take my original swing arm and get it done in satin black, I'll have that one for sale in about a month.
Satin black is the match.
the oem frame paint is a satin black with a very small metalic in it, but a good part of it is laid on cast which has a somewhat textured feel to it. I had mine powdercoated crinkle-black and it looks like it could have come from the factory that way....im really happy with the way it looks and it is supper hard!
Personally I would have got it done in Gloss. then taken the clutch and stator covers off and had them done gloss also, it looks so damn nice. It mathes the fairings really well.

I did my clutch cover gloss then took a bit of extra time to carefully stencile the HONDA in a nice red enamal pain. It looks great, get compliments on it all the time.

Can you post some pictures of this?
