Sup guys .. I am in the process of selling my 600rr and I may end up with a newer 600rr or a little older (04/05) 1000rr .. I searched for a comparison of the 1krrs year wise but didn't find any ..any input of shortcoming(performance wise) would be great .. I hear a lot of 1ks have clutch issues?!? Should I get a R1 instead? Help me decide .. cheers

Welcome to the site. Buy the CBR,(06-07 or 09...) ride it, love it, take lots of pics, post em, and be done with your wondering :thumbsup:

Big welcome fae Scotland, go for the big Aitch.

bucky.
Welcome
04-07 1000rr are pretty similar, there are threads comparing the two, some minor performance increases and cosmetic changes but other than that they are mostly the same.
I traded my 08 CBR600RR for an 08 1000. No regrets and haven't looked back.
Thanks guys .. I wish I could get the latest one but being a student I can only afford one around $6k .. Feel bad to low ball a bunch of peeps on craigslist .. lets see what happens .. its for a good cause right :p
:welcomesign::thumbsup:
04/05's are bad ass bikes.

Get what you can get. No clutch issues with those bikes. Some had stator issues.

Warranty was extended on those though.
Welcome. I sold my 600RR and upgraded to the Blade too. I've ridden a number of different bikes in the past, all different sizes and shapes. However, while the 08 Blade is a lot of fun (and a lot of bike), I can't help but think in the back of my mind how much fun I could have on one of the newer 600RR. I'm a track junkie and 600s are just more fun to wring out. Now, I haven't gotten my Blade on the track yet, but it'll probably be more of a handful (not probably, WILL BE...) Honestly, the roll-on acceleration of a 1000 is insane, but it gets old. And no matter how light the 1000RR is, the 600RR is THAT much lighter. It's a serious featherweight. Tough decision on your hands, but IMO, I'd opt for the 600.

I test rode a 04 1000 and I am in love with the torque :thumbsup: .. The only thing I immediately didn't like was the stearing damper .. didn't seem like it had setting in which you can make it softer .. high speed sweepers I would love railing that bitch but ya know on the local twisties, those tight turns would really hard with the damn damper .. how do u guys deal with it?
