There is a well documented sloppy area from around 2.5k to near 3k. I had a custom map made for my pc3 and it cleaned it up fairly well.
Off idle throttle response/smoothness
what might hinder the off idle throttle response and overall smothness?

He speaks the truth, mine does the same thing. I haven't had a custom map made yet because I'm not done with with my intake but I used a map that seemed like a close match and it helped a little.
