Hello, my name is Dean. I live in Alma, Ga. I have a ‘06 Honda CBR 1000RR. Recently changed exhaust to slip on Arrow Maxi exhaust, not a full system change, I did not change headers or deleted catalytic converter. It runs fine now, no problems.
Is a Dynojet Power Commander 5 or 6 series worth the cost and time of install? I do not race it. Leisure riding only. Would the Power Commander make that much noticeable difference in spending $350-400? If you ask someone or the company that’s selling them then sure they will say yes it’s worth it, but they’re just trying to sell the product instead of being honest. Thanks for any advice or your experience! When I chgd the exhaust to the Arrow, I deleted the exhaust Servo valve and motor and installed the Servo buddy delete to not have any codes from that , I’m just a DIY person and want to know if the Power Commander is worth it, will it give me a “Wow” glad I done that when it’s installed and done. Is the Juice worth the squeeze?!?

Hey Dean,
A Power Commander only allows you to tune the fuel mapping but that is all it can do for you.Now having your ecu flashed we can download a fuel map to match your Arrow exhaust system along with removing all the factory restrictions. Having you ECU flashed will see a much bigger gain in performance then just adding a fuel controller.ECU flashing gives you way more bang for the buck at a cost of only $190.00 . Check out this link to our website and look up your model bike to see all the features that are available for your model. Thanks Dan

No, it will not do anything for your style/standard street riding. It will be a waste of money.

There's a PC6? I've been too far out of the loop lately.
I just bought this bike last summer. I’m 50yo, havent had a Sportbike in 10 yrs, wanted to ride again and have enjoyed it. Had other bikes since, I still like the ride and thrill. 12,000 miles when I bought it. I’ve chgd the exhaust and put on the Brembo front calipers. I enjoy it and my daughters enjoy riding with me.

Rs27.....Your bike looks awesome!! One of the best looking Fireblades.
I like the extra little decals....I'm a sucker for that.
I have an 05 with an M4 Slip on....I have to be honest, I don't know how you could use much more power on the street than what your bike has to offer.....unless you are strickly into drag racing.
If you maintain it well, it will make you happy every time you ride it, and it will go forever. My 05 has 35,000 miles and runs great.
Danos is probably the best at what he does if you really want some extra HP.

Power commanders are not the complete package anymore, like 20 years ago.

Go wt a ecu flash, simple, no wiring issues, plug n play performance. I only promote @Danos Performance bc i had such a great experience as well as Thousands of others via eBay etc, just look at his eBay feedback.

Bike looks great. I have 07 and fkn love it. I have Two Bros exhaust and juicebox with a noticeable power bump from factory oem restrictions.

I looked it up and yes, there is a Power Commander 6. It appears to do exactly what the PCV does, but as we all know 6 is larger than 5, so it's better by about 20%.

Remember when Dynojet was based around the sport bikes? They had other parts, but they made their money selling to sport bike guys.

Now the emphasis is on Harley. It makes sense. When a good flash is 190.00, and does so much more, it won't matter if there is version 5, 6 or 7. It will be a hard sell.

Yeah, I had a PC3 on my 10R for awhile, sold it. I forget why. I think it was that none of the download maps were any good on my bike. When the PCV came out the big sell to me was the AutoTune add on. Seemed like a good solution for those who aren't near a tuner and don't want to mail out their ECU or purchase another one to flash. Not to mention, in theory, tuning on the fly based on real world conditions and behavior could result in a superior tune. Then most of the feedback seemed to be that it wasn't what it was cracked up to be, so. Anyway. I wonder what the upgrade gimmick would be for a PC6. If they're marketing to Harley folks they don't need more than a long, ridiculous name that sounds obliquely patriotic and they'll be all over it.

I believe version 6 has timing adjust capabilities, built in. On our PCV, if we wanted that we needed to add an expansion module. By the time we added that to the PCV and auto tune, we were looking at 700.00 and hoping someone had a good target afr table for our auto tune to use as a target.

The power commander will definitely give you performance gains seeing as your ecm is programmed to meet emission guidlines. Even with 0 mods you will notice gains. I currently have the PC6 and in all honesty it sucks. You cannot see your base map and you can only alter it +/-15%. Youre limited to PC6 map files unless you get dynojet to convert a pc5 map for you as i did. I would recommend a woolich flash tuner or a pc5. Ive also had dynojets pcfc and i was happy with that. Although im not sure why you would need 10 tunes to switch to in the fly lol. Stay away from the PC6 the new company line is to send you to one of their leased dynos. The PC5 has everything the 6 has plus more. Like accel pump, you have free range to see your map as well as adjust it. More maps to choose from
