PUIG - Looks Like I Got A Bad One (Standard - Dark Smoke)

Tried to put this thing on today. Like I have read about others with this "fitment" problem the thing does not line up at all.

The lower right and left sides of the screen don't mate up to the front cowl and there is a large gap on either side. Also, the bottom tip of the screen jutted out when I tried to put most of the screws in to see if it would align itself. Keep in mind the upper most screw won't go in when all the other screws are in because it's so out of line.

Yes, I am installing it correctly. I was mindful of how I took the OEM one out and I attempted the PUIG install exactly like the OEM one was installed.

I have read and I am assuming these screens are the same for the 04 - 07 1000rr's so I don't think I got the wrong one. I have an 07.

Looks like the PUIG will be going back to where I bought it from for either a refund or an exchange.

I was planning on buying a Puig as I had "heard" that they had a reputation for quality and fit. Not trying to be a thread jacker but does anyone care to offer an opinion on their experience with Puig or the Double Bubble manufactured by Zero Gravity? Wondering how many others have had an experience similar to Forrest...
This is only the second person I have seen with an issue.

I had 2 Puig screens for my bike and they both fit perfectly.
I had what sounds like the same problem:

Got a refund and purchased a Zero Gravity screen in the end, fits perfectly and looks better (the bottom of the bubble is pointed).
ive had three puig screens on three diff. bikes never ha issues
I had powerbronze double bubble ( very good quality) before on my gixxer ( what happend to powerbronze ? ) Anybody knows ????
I had a puig on 3 of my bikes... no problems for me either... sounds like a fluke.
got a puig here also, no problems with mine. try another one and see if it lines up better...
I got a puig double bubble from Superbike Supply for my 08. I managed to get it on. But I cannot say the screws line up perfect like stock. I just figured thats what I get for buying an aftermarket part...& nothing fits like stock! Its off to one side a little bit. I have pictures, if anybody wants to see. But overall Im happy with it.
The bottom of my Puig DB doesnt line up flush with the third eye. It is raised a bit instead of a perfect fitment like OEM.
2 different puigs on two different bikes.. no problems here..
I'm on my second windscreen.
This is for my 08 race bike and even though the fairings are sharkinzs, the're pretty close to oem fit. The puig doesn't line up well and because you have to force it towards the mounting holes, mine have both broken completely off at the mounting taps under pressure.

I guess i'll try out the hotbodies screen next...
No complaints with my Puig.
my puig fits great.. 06 model.. not that it matters

i always thought this was normal? its not like a huge gap but its not flush. but i thought everyones i was seeing fit like that?

good to know its not just me that got a jacked up screen. not sure how normal it is though. from hearing other peoples experiences it sounds like it is hit or miss on getting one that fits perfect. unless they are saying it fits perfect even though it is raised where the screen lines up with the third eye.
