question about seat cowls

Thats what I`m hearing. One of the guys on this board put his 600 cowl on his 1000 and someone else did the opposite. Here is a link where you can get the 600rr cowl for 135 plus shipping. The customer service at this dealership is great. I have dealt with Myron myself on 2 occasions, highly recommended. Tell him you got his # from 600rr.net.

Yes the 600 cowl fits on the 10000
The 600RR cowl will definitely fit the 1000, cos i compared them directly on saturday with the guy who pulled up beside me on his 600. You will need to change the bracket on the left side of the underneath of the cowl, with the one on the seat. Its only one bolt, so it should be easy.

I ride year round, rain or shine.
I see what you are getting at and I thought about it before I posted.
A. Not a lot sitting in our "trunk" that could get wet.
B. Riding in the rain wouldn't put all that much water down the vents
C. If something did get wet, the hot exhaust would dry it off pretty fast.
I live in Northern California and may ride 4 days a year where the rain is bad enough to need a suit.

I kinda agree with woods1000rr on this... the 600 cowl is a little more "racy", with the bumper (or whatever-the-hell-ya-call-it) and slight rise at the front. I usually wear a backpack when I ride, so this front rise might not be a good thing...IronNutz said:

does anyone have (or know of) pics of the 1000 cowl installed on the bike, to compare with the pics above?
also, what about color matching between the 600 and 1000 bikes? I read a post that the red is slightly different (but hardly noticeable), but I'm curious about black. The black bikes are all black, so any color difference would show a little more than the red or silver bikes, in my opinion. Has anyone got a black cowl, of either variety?

P.S. Those vents aren't gonna do much good, even if you dremmel them out. They point up, and to the rear. Unless you're going backwards, and doing a wheelie at the same time, not a lot of air is gonna flow into those vents. If anyone can do backwards wheelies, please take a video and post the link...
