Are you saying that the cowl on my 600rr will fit the 1000rr? If so that is great! I will keep the cowl when I trade the 600rr in. Please advise. :D
Thats what I`m hearing. One of the guys on this board put his 600 cowl on his 1000 and someone else did the opposite. If my 1000rr would ever come in I`d be able to tell you first hand. :(

Here is a link where you can get the 600rr cowl for 135 plus shipping. The customer service at this dealership is great. I have dealt with Myron myself on 2 occasions, highly recommended. Tell him you got his # from 600rr.net.

The 600RR cowl will definitely fit the 1000, cos i compared them directly on saturday with the guy who pulled up beside me on his 600. You will need to change the bracket on the left side of the underneath of the cowl, with the one on the seat. Its only one bolt, so it should be easy.

Has any one got an opinion on the new arrow RCV replica system for the 1000RR - www.arrow.it.

Extra 10 Shergars they reckon

FYI,
Got my black seat cowl today. The vents on top ARE NOT functional. Kinda pisses me off. I hate non functional parts. Good news is it can be dremeled out (and will be).

I ride year round, rain or shine.
I see what you are getting at and I thought about it before I posted.

A. Not a lot sitting in our "trunk" that could get wet.
B. Riding in the rain wouldn't put all that much water down the vents
C. If something did get wet, the hot exhaust would dry it off pretty fast.

I live in Northern California and may ride 4 days a year where the rain is bad enough to need a suit.

honda factory seat cowls look ok... still lookin for the sweet look
What are you waiting on?? Stock fitment, sleek design, top vents that match the rest of the vents on the bike, perfect color match... What is it you want??
I kinda agree with woods1000rr on this... the 600 cowl is a little more "racy", with the bumper (or whatever-the-hell-ya-call-it) and slight rise at the front. I usually wear a backpack when I ride, so this front rise might not be a good thing...

for everyone's easy reference/comparison, here's some links:

600 cowl (not on the bike, pics from Honda's website):

600 cowl installed on a 1000 bike:

does anyone have (or know of) pics of the 1000 cowl installed on the bike, to compare with the pics above?

also, what about color matching between the 600 and 1000 bikes? I read a post that the red is slightly different (but hardly noticeable), but I'm curious about black. The black bikes are all black, so any color difference would show a little more than the red or silver bikes, in my opinion. Has anyone got a black cowl, of either variety?

pics, pics, pics...

Thanks

P.S. Those vents aren't gonna do much good, even if you dremmel them out. They point up, and to the rear. Unless you're going backwards, and doing a wheelie at the same time, not a lot of air is gonna flow into those vents. If anyone can do backwards wheelies, please take a video and post the link... :)

Vents face up as heat rises, heat escapes.
Forward facing vents have been opened up and I put some blinkers in there.

I will get a pretty good temp drop from this mod.
