R&G Tail Tidy + Clear Alternatives

1947 Views 10 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  2008 RR
Finally got around to taking pictures after the install. Went with some small turn signals in addition to the integrated signals in the CA taillight.

Picture #7 shows the brake lights for both the CBR (on the right) and my stock V-Strom.

Picture #8 shows the right turn signals working together (integrated + small LED mounted on the R&G bracket). The small LED signals are pretty dim but the two signals working together show up well.

Thanks for the pics bro. I just ordered a clear light off of ebay. I was wondering how it would look with the silver bike. Looks great! Mine is not the clear alternatives, but the cheaper one from an ebay vendor. Looks and specs were the same, but only paid $74 for mine shipped. CA wanted $140 plus shipping. Think I will mount my plate further under the rear. May be too far back where yours is. Kind of takes away from the lines a little, but still a nice install!
interesting. Your turn signal/tag bracket looks different! That came with the r&g?

+1 My R&G looks different than that.

Yup. That's what they sent me. They came with an oblong hole, presumably designed for the stock turn signals' rubber mounting "plug"). I ended up making some aluminum plates to cover up the oblong hole.
The EvoTech F/E looks just like that as well.
I scrapped that joke of a plate light, and mounted the plate from the bottom to use the tailight as a plate light.

Well, color me stupid! :beat:

That's what I get for searching Tail Tidy on eBay, not knowing that Tail Tidy is a generic term instead of product name. I went back and looked at my eBay order details - it is the Evotech. Oh well, I'm happy with it anyhow.
Un-whack yourself in the head, the ones on ebay cost less than ordering from the factory when I did. Glad your digging it...Best F/E IMO.
Looks a lot better than stock either way
