Regearing my '08 for street and track

After my 3rd Thunderhill trackday on the bike, I've some to the conclusion that it's overgeared for my riding style. I've read up on different ratios, and the traditional -1/+2 or +3 would be too low for street use (since it is also my street bike). I want to get a ratio that would be a compromise between the two riding environments. Maybe keeping the front sprocket at the stock 16-tooth count, but go up two teeth on the back? Thoughts?

If you are -1/+2 on the 08, then you are 15/44. Stock 08 is 16/42. On your 04, -1/+2 is 15/43.

So far looks like the -1/+2 is winning. I was lucky to pick up a NIB 520 DID x-ring chain from the local Cycle Gear clearance shelf...looks like a set of sprockets is next! Thanks guys!
