Seat height

Hey I just adjusted my suspension on my 07 to what the guys at sport bike mag recommend. However, when I got on it again it felt as if the seat was lower. Will adjusting the rear comp and rebound raise or lower your seat height? Also they said to put the rear comp damping 20 clicks from full stiff what is that exactly doing to the bike? It seems a lot since the stock setting is 9 from stiff. I'm also 6'1" and 200lbs. How do you raise the seat height anyway? Anything else you guys can tell me or what you guys have your suspensions set at? Thanks
