Tag Mounting

Hey guys,
I've searched and searched but couldn't find. I thought there used to be a thread of all the diff ways to mount the license plate. Well anyway, looking at exhaust picture database I was able to catch a glimpse of some of the ways you guys mounted plates.

I got a smoked integrated tail light, and a micron exhaust that I'm dying to put on. I was planning on hooking the tag on the exhaust strap under the tail...For those of you who have done it this way, how exactly did you mount it up? Also, does it rattle?

There is a piece of stainless steel under the battery tray, that I might mount the tag too, but i think it's off-center. Anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Used to have mine done this way, didn't rattle at all and there are several FE kits out the that accomplish this. My suggestion is to check with brad
I dont like giving the law a excuss..I mounted mine the correct way with a led tag light also.

I know there are FE out there...I wouldn't be posting for suggestions on how to rig the plate if I wanted to just go out and buy one...lol

I'm not gonna spend $30+ for something that costs $4 in parts. I don't mind putting in the labor, in fact I kind of enjoy it. I'm just looking for suggestions.

Doesn't need to have lights on it...I just want it in a spot where I can reach it.

On my GSXR, the plate was so far under the swing arm, you couldn't even see it once I sat on the bike:thefinger:
Well if you want cheap just use a piece of alum rod and bend it,flatten the two ends, drill holes thru the ends and mount it inthe bolt holes of the oem stuff.use two small angle brackets to attach the tag to the rod.

Thats the way the tag was mounted when i got mine.. TO cheap and funky looking..
I cant remember where I ordered my FE from but it was only 30 sumthin bux shipped and has an LED light. Before I got that I just used the factory tag mount, trimmed the 2 outer tabs off and used the middle one to bolt it under the battery box. Took bout half an hour to do but it worked great.
ok so I did some searching and found it. it mounts under the batery box with a couple small bolts and has built in led lights that are really bright.

Thats about how mine looked, I cut up the stock plate holder to make it from & bent it in a vice. cheap and easy, just how I like em' :)

Yeah it is kinda hokey looking if I do it that way. That one on the battery tray is very nice. Maybe I can copy the design. When I change the pipe, I'll probably find a way to strap it in the exhaust clamp...
I know I've posted this before but here ya go again....

That chain is cleaned up now and I'm PC'ing the relocater black to match my new '07 swing.

My bike was stolen so I dont have the tag right now. Luckly I got the bike back but have to go get a new tag. Someone else on this forum has mounted theirs likes this also. I took the stock mount and cut and bent it to do mine. Going to use led tag light bolts to light it.

What does it hold on to, do you need to drill anything?

I just ordered these, pretty exspensive, and they are chrome, but I like the extra running/blinker lights in the ends. Probably not supposed to post t it since they are not site sponsors, but since you asked.

Lighted Plate Bolts

They have satin, and polished and you can easily paint them...
