The Answer--Will 04 Marchesinis Fit On An 08??

The quick answer is --Yes
The rear just fits right in, the Marchesinis have captive rear spacers--life is wonderful
The front takes a little modding, this is waht is needed--there are TWO different ways to do it based on what rotors you use
1) 04 rotors, stock, I used Brembos, BrakeTech, Whatever
a) You need to machine 2mm from the mounting surface of the alloy hub that bolts to the mag wheel and which the rotor bolts to--You are trying to reduce the dimension between the outside planes of the rotors by 4mm (2 per side)
b) New spacers need to be made 0.850 on the right side (with shoulder) 0.750 on the left side (no shoulder)
c) Your done--Machining cost for me $125--and I got to use my new bitchin Brembos rotors

2) If you want to use the 08 rotors, youll need to buy some new hubs from Marchesini--they are about $135/set and replace the hubs,I also bought new 08 spacers form them=$25 bolt on rotors and go. I am waiting to get thes eparts from LDH/Kyle, I wil confoirm that this works as anticipated when I get them.

So now you know. And NO and OEM front 04 wheel will not fit on an 08 or vice versa w/o serious machining--the oem wheels do NOT have hubs like the Marchesinis.
I havent a cluse what the deal is with aftermarket wheel other than Marchesinsis--but I would assume they are similar

Pretty much what Frank(repsolguy) has said too. Takes some machining but it can be done. Good write up though.
my galespeeds from my 05 went straight onto my 08....

Did you ever manage to get the '08 hubs on?
you guys familar with jb powers

Really? That's awesome. Which type Galespeeds do you have. I'm hoping to keep my type Ms if and when I get a 08.

Straight swap, no mods at all?
i got these to fit. just put the hubs on a lathe. i will be ordering new hubs from marchesini ASAP so i can use my Superbike Rotors. i'll have pics in a few minutes. i hate those damn 04-07 rotors after feeling the 08+ 6 button rotors.

Any update on this? I want to use 07 marchesini on an 09 with the 09 rotors. I can't fine where to order the hubs.

Dan Kyle can order them, BUT they wont fix anything--they are the same as the 04-07--thus you have to machine the actual whel which is alot tougher
SO I don't need the hubs, I just need the wheel machined 2 mm on each side and need the spacers? I have to use 2007 rotors, the calipers fit perfect but are tight to just get on, right?

TrackHo, just to clarify you did order them, they finally did arrive and in fact you can not just order 08+ rotor carrier hubs to fit the 04-07 Marchesini wheels using the 08 rotors as a bolt up solution?

Ok, I'm digging up an old thread but I'm in need of some more info as I'm having an opportunity to get a hand on a set of Mag Marchesini from a 07 that I'd like to put on my 13.

From all info I found, I understand that rear is a straight fit but need a special sprocket with a Marchesini PCD (no OEM sprocket).
Front need a bit machining of rotor carriers (2mm/each).
What I don't understand is for spacers (don't understand the numbers): do I have to machine the Marchesini spacers for 07 to fit 08+? If so, how much machining?

Thanks for helping.

those measurements are in inches. i gathered that much...

i think what he did was machined the existing spacers to those dimensions and mounted up... not sure tho, shoot him a PM for 100% calrity
Thanks for the info.
Sent him a PM, but doubt he'll reply as his last activity was back in 2011...

Frosty, that .850" & .750" should be the finish length of each resp. spacer after machining. What I can't tell is if these were 04-07 spacers or the new 08's he said he
bought, let alone what hub he used them with.

It makes total sense that 07 spacers need machining down to fit the narrower 08 fork spacing. Think the safest approach would be knowing (dimension wise) what the
07 is compared to the 08, and figure from there. If you have the ability to (a good machine shop can do this), take stock 08 frt wheel w/ spacers installed & measure
length from face to face of spacers. I'm wanting to put 12/13 wheels on my 06 and am eager to know what this measurement is.

PM me if you need any dim's off the 04-07 stock wheel... lets figure this mule out. :th_salute:
^When I get a chance, I'll measure that out.

Also sent a PM to repsolguy as he's done tons of swap of this kind.
So it's wait and see...
