Ok, I'm a newbie to this FI tuning deal. I ordered the ZFi-TC for my 2008 1000RR, plus the ZBomb. The ZBomb has been received and installed, no tuning yet. ZFi is due in tomorrow.

My questions is, how do I retune my stock bike for the ZBomb when Bazzaz doesnt provide a stock map file. I realize that Map 0 is for stock, but was told you cannot 'tune' on this setting. Is it not possible to save off a map file for this setting and then modify it accordingly? (My understanding is that you want to increase fuel by 5% at TPS 90% and above from 10,500 to redline)

Hope this doesn't come off as sounding too dumb, but any help would be, well, helpful. Track Day coming up soon!

BTW, I intend on getting the ZAFM soon, but that doesnt help me for the moment.

You can check out this thread for more info:

I have 2 maps that u can download there and if you read a little further you can see how people have add fuel. 5% at TPS 90% and above from 10,500 to redline.
This map will work on a stock bike pretty well just add the fuel in the range required above.
If you look at the last picture on page 3 of the other thread he has a zafm and it actually recommended to take fuel away from my map provided.
Actually here is the link for the bazzaz map afr 13.0 for arrow slipon:

Thanks Alex. So here is what I've done. I took the standard Bazzaz slip on map and modified for the Zbomb, then took your first (road tuned) map and modified it for the Zbomb. One of the things I noticed was that your map had no trim valus below 2500rpm.

I will be running the bike with both of those maps (as well as the Zero Map) and see how she runs.

I am running a stock US CBR1000RR with the exhaust flapper disabled. (Unfortunately, I have $3000 US in non-motor mods:)

I have the bazzaz map switch, so we'll see how it goes.

P.S. I may try those 0% TPS settings you mentioned.

One other off tangent question. My ZFi comes in tomorrow noonish, but I want to start tearing the bike down in the AM. Do I need to pull off the airbox to install the ZFi connectors? Looks like the upper/lower injector fittings are accessible, but not sure about the ignition cut-offs.

I didn't put any trim values in there (up to 2500rpm) because the bike seemed to be very rich on idle and very sluggish pulling out of that rev range for the street. I would recommend leaving it at zero for the moment which means all standard. More fuel at idle keeps the temps lower, at least that's what i have found. You can always play with that when your zafm arrives.
Unfortunately i dont have the traction control version so i cant help you out with that.

Heres a link to tuning the traction control:

Heres a link to tuning the ZFI:

Heres a link on the install of full bazzaz on a 06 gsxr 1000 (just as an example for you:

Three questions on installation:

Quick Shift: I don't have any instructions on this in my kit. For a stock shift pattern, does the shift switch mount toward the top, or toward the bottom of the shift rod?

Where is the green Neutral Detect Wire?

Where is a good switched power wire?
