I have one coming tomorrow. Do you have something to show what needs to be changed just in case mine is affected?
OK, I'm so pissed right now!!! I went and had my PCV overnighted to me. So I could install it last night. (Friday night) So I could have it installed and ready for Saturday morning. I had to set up an appointment for the dyno tuning. But just as I was disassembling the bike. I remembered reading somewhere on here about the wire harness not being correct. So I dropped everything I was doing and got on here. And.............. What do you know! Mine is the one that was affected.:whyme::whyme:You can not go by that batch # as we have already updated the ones we have in stock. If there is any question look at the PCV connector and if the wire orientation matches this picture then it is CORRECT. If you are going to modify your harness yourself make sure to alter both the female and male connector.
YES and YES.OK, I'm so pissed right now!!! I went and had my PCV overnighted to me. So I could install it last night. (Friday night) So I could have it installed and ready for Saturday morning. So my question is............. They say its an easy fix. are the saying cut my into my harness and switch the wires. and reconnect them with bullet butt connectors? or solder and heat shrink? or is there a way to release the pins out of the plug? and just move them to their correct location.
Somebody PLEASE help!!! If I can get this done soon enough. i may be able to salvage this day.
Thank You.
OK......................... How do I release the pins?YES and YES.
See the post directly above your own. If you dont feel you have the requisite skills to make the correction, then you will have to send it back.
Thank you Brad. I did get the gray lock piece off. but I still could not see where it locks. (female end) I bought these precision flat head screwdrivers. very small ones. like an eyeglass screwdriver. Then I looked at the male end. and its totally different. On the connector in the pic shown, the gray piece in the front is the lock. That needs to be removed carefully, using some combination of pliers and small screwdrivers.
Once it is removed, you should be clearly able to see a latch holding each pin in. Lift the latch, and while the latch is lifted, pull the terminal out the back of the connector. Jewelers screwdrivers really help when it comes to lifting those.
Thank You for your information on the Z-bomb Question. Thanks Brad for helping Rodio and we do apologize for the issues. We updated this harness but unfortunately our production team did not send down a test harness (which is protocol) and did not tell us that it was put into production. This is why you got the old harness instructions. As soon as we realized the issue everyone that received an incorrect unit was notified. There is no way for us to let the dealers know that purchased it from our distributors which is why we posted here.
If you have the Zbomb or IRC then you should modify the map you are currently using. We recommend adding a value of 9 to your current cells from 10500 to redline.
There are colore updated install guides on the site if needed.
