woodcraft case covers

I don't know if anyone had posted pics or gave feedback yet but i just got a set and installed. They are great fit no problems, the stator cover is lower profile and sticks out less than stock. I did have to change the stator bolt with the one supplied from woodcraft. The clutch side is just a cover that bolts over the factory cover. My dad's bike has the sato sliders and for the 100$ more these are definatly worth it.

You do know if you go down the right side of your frame is gonna get ground up--covers are cheap. Wood craft frame sliders would save your frame which is MUCH more $$$$
This is what it looks like w/o frame sliders

+1 on the frame sliders. The more I look into these type covers I don't totally get it. A new timing cover is $15.00, a new stator cover $100. Yamabond $7.00. All these type things are costing more than the parts they are trying to protect and they don't seem like they are any easier to replace.

Maybe I'm missing something. The stator cover does look good though.
A stronger cover, such as the Woodcraft from billet, might prevent damage to internals.
Those Woodcraft case covers look great but Woodcraft dont make slidders for the 08, even if they did i dont trust their slidders, they look like they will fold. Better than nothing though.

Yes they do.

And I'm not sure why you say they look like they will fold? They are one of the most recommended frame sliders out there.
Damn i missed that (08+ CBR1000rr), Doh!

I think they will fold because of this small radius here in the pic, slidders where it attaches as wide as the black derlin hold better IME

The mount can't be that thick as it fit's into the recess hole for the mount.

I have crash tested the woodcraft CUT-STYLE silders on my 04 (same design as the 08) and they DO work as advertised, Hell I can still use the puck if I wanted too.

I also had NO-CUTs on my 08 that the dealer crash tested for me, the brackets for them is the reason the bike was totalled as they caused more frame damage.
Yeah, I was gonna say the same. All cut frame sliders will have a bolt the same thickness.

I agree, Cut slidders are far better than no-cut, as a rule.

So does the black derlin sit flat on the frame? that would give it extra support, but it looks like the derlin comes away from the frame giving less support.

Ive seen so many pictures of mushroom style sliders that fold from just low speed offs.

On my stunt bike the cage is made of steel and all the strength comes from how wide and flush it is to the frame.
Damn!, ive just checked and the R&G sliders ive just ordered have a 25mm aluminium spacer that fits into the engine mount and you drill a 25mm hole through the fairing. The bolts are M12 which is good, but i dont think 25mm is wide enough to stop the slider folding, id rather drill a hole the thickness of the derlin (50mm +) and have it sit flush on the frame.

The woodcraft need a wider hole but im not sure they fit flush on the frame, ill email them and ask.
I crash tested my Woodcrafts on my last '08 at the track and they definitely hold up.

Thats good to hear.

Can you please confirm if the whole width of the black plastic sits flush on the frame or just the alloy spacer?

thanks
Don't remember how much space if there was any between it and frame.
Hmmm... Im thinking these woodcraft might of been more ideal than the R&G ive ordered.

R&G have some connection with the Honda parts dept so i assumed they would be the best.

The R&G engine case protectors are far cheaper than woodcraft and they look like they can do the job http://www.rg-racing.com/browseBike/Honda/CBR1000RR/2008.aspx
