Wrecked bike... help with parts neeeded to make it a track bike

So I got the quote back from the shop that I took it to and got a lengthy list of parts. Since I plan on making this a track bike I won't need a lot of it but I don't know what much of it is and whether or not I'll need them. If you've got a few minutes any help describing the parts would be appreciated. Once I figure what I need I'll see what all Brad can get me which I'm sure will be much cheaper than Honda prices...

37100-mel-671 - Meter, combination $600.89 - this is the LCD. I have it but don't know if it still works.

64501-mel-010 - stay a, cowl - $112.98 - is this the main fairing stay for the front where the headlights would normally reside?
22887-mbb-006 - cup, oil $32.79 - didn't know a cup of oil was that expensive...

33403-mel-670 - base, r. fr. $74.79 - no idea?

I know I need the "subframe" as my buddy put it. The part that holds the rear seat section up. I don't recognize it from the above list but assume it's one of the more expensive pieces...

I left all the cowls, the mirrors, and windscreen off as well as a few other obvious items. Also left off some items that were "damaged" but do not need replacing. The rims shouldn't need replacing. They got dinged up but are still fine.

19504-mel-000 - hose, filler neck $11...If you dropped it on the right side Im assuming this would be the a radiator part
18325-mel-d00 - protector, ex. pipe $152.89...probably factory heat shield
83150-mel-671zd - shelter set (type 4) - $626.79...sounds like it would be sumthin to do with fairings or body pieces of some sort.
The seat assy's should be the whole seat as you would take it off the bike

I dunno if this will help any but I tried, good luck with it. Also try bikebandit.com and look at their microfiche, see if you can enter a part number and search where its used if youre not sure.

Never heard of that place. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!
Since it's such a cryptic part list and it seems like he's including things like rims which you say aren't damaged you should post up some detailed pictures and we can point out what you need.
I've also had good experiences with http://www.servicehonda.com , they have some really low prices on OEM parts. They have an online microfiche too that you can use to reference those part numbers.
That bikebandit.com is very nice. I'll checkout servicehonda.com in a minute.

Assuming I know everything that needs to be fixed I'm looking at $1500 in parts right now, including a full set of plastics which should be in the ~$700 range. So, ~$2500 for a track bike. I guess it's only the buy back of $950 up front. I can repair the rest as money comes in...
Try http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm you just type in the 13 character part# the dealer gave you and you'll see which part it is.
the shelter is more than likely the tank shelter, I.E. tank plastic...
the fairing stay is the main stay that the frt cowl bolts to AND the headlights And dash attach to. the protector ex pipe thing is more than likely the heat sheilding uinder the rear seat and/or the heat shielding that diverts heat from your rgiht leg.

and as for the wheels...hell theve got you down for nearly 1500 bucks on wheels,, if you really do need them.. youve almost got yourself a set a march's
Your wasting a lot of money taking your bike 2 a shop. Between all the riders on here u could get used parts n fix it 4 prolly 500 to 600

I think he just took it to the shop for the estimate. Definitely do that then get the insurance co to cut you a check and fix it yourself. You wont spend much at all if you have patience and shop around for used parts.
The best modded bikes come from crashed stock bikes... You'll see what I mean. My bike was mostly stock until I lowsided it, then while I was spending money fixing the broken stuff I went nuts and bought rims, brakes, clipons and rear sets, electronics, brake lines, etc, etc, etc... Have fun with the rebuild.
Ebay is a huge help. I like simpson cycles as far as basic parts go. they have just about everything of a stock bike. Ive been rebuilding mine from ebay. still gotta hit the honda shop up for a few things
i bought my bike back from the insurance. its all fixed minus a rear rim, for 800 bucks. ill get pics when im done. the insurance quoted it as 9700 in damage.

are u making a track bike, cuz you should get some marchesini rims. and sell me your rear rim thanks.

That was the plan. Unfortunately State Farm didn't want to make it easy on me.

The credit union has the title. When State Farm pays them off they give the title to State Farm. Once they have it it goes straight to auction. They won't salvage the title and sell it to me for some retarded reason. I don't have the money to pay the credit union off to get the title so I have turn it into a salvaged title so I said fuck it, took off my rear sets, levers, seat...

Kinda sucks but that's another $1000 in my pocket for modding the next bike.
