The other day at the track my bikes speedo top speed is 150mph. I bought the bike used so I do not know if it's the gearing possibly?

When the rain dies down I will wander out to the shed and have a look, I was just wondering if it was restricted but I'm seeing other restricted at 186

please count your teeth or something i would be happy with 155 160 for the street anyday how often do you go faster than that

It's fast, but my 02 600 GSXR was geared down and topped out at 135. My friend has an 04 Busa and there's times when there's a clearing on the highway. My friend with the busa swears the more miles he put on his 954RR the slower it went. :th_SmlyROFL:

I can only get up to around 155/160 or so down the main straight at thunderhill before I have to brake for turn 1. You running out of track or what?
LOL

What RPM you hitting in what gear? Is it rev limiting in 6th?

Seems like you might be asking if you shouldn't have greater acceleration along that straight, resulting in higher speed before you reach your brake point. What track is this anyway?

[Sorry if any of this was already given and I missed it.]

Does it have a speedohealer?

If the bike is geared down it should be even easier to get the speedo to read in the 150+ area. The lower you gear the bike the more off and higher the speedo reads. 150 indicated is more like high 130's. When you gear the bike lower ie +1-2 150 indicated will be an even slower actual speed. If you are running out of track that is I different thing all together. I try not to look at the speedo when on the track. Put a piece of tape over and look at lap times.
