So one of the major effects of COVID-19 seems to have been lack of sparks on CBRs. We've had a bunch of threads recently about this and I don't think any of them have been updated by the original poster to say if the issue was fixed and how.
However, take a look at these, there are some comments / ideas in there for you to get going.
the first guess however is always: check the kill switch.
Hello! ... Just purchased an 07 CBR 1000RR that has had it's head gasket replaced. Upon putting the motor back in, it is failing to get spark. Things I've checked and confirmed working: ✔ BAS (Bank Angle Sensor / Tip Sensor) - Jumped (Pin 1 and 3) / Confirmed by un-jumping and trying to start...
Hi All. My 2005 CBR1K just refuses to start. I’ve been troubleshooting a while and just read about a Zenner Diode that can fail. Can anyone confirm that this diode is fitted to my bike year. Thanks.
Here we are… Another victim of started last riding season, I moved and didn’t start it in the winter, now I’m a new battery, new plugs, new fuse in the fuel pump, new stator and it still cranks and cranks. No fire. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks in advance. Kevin Butler USMC veteran
Most of the no spark problems with cbr on this forum seemsto be that they don't have all the parts and sensors and relays installed and have bypassed major safety components which If not properly fixed will make the bike not fire and or throw codes . Make sure the HESS ( steering stabilizer ) is correctly installed and working. Also the tip over sensor and kick stand sensor . Kill switch as stated above is first choice . I know of guys who have pulled the wrong pin in the wiring harness to bypass stuff and were chasing a ghost for weeks until we checked his work and found he pulled the green wire and not the green and white stripe wire. Fixed his mistake and boom bike fired. Double check all relays and connectors again just in case something was loose .
