Year of your bike might help.

 

2008 1000rr... lower side of the cover it looks like... maybe something behind the cover i cant see..

 

Had the same problem with my 08. Thought I ended up with one of the oil burners because I would top it off and it would be low whe I got back. I was putting the bike up on the stand and realized there was a shiny wet spot on the house below the cover. Same spot as you decribe. I checked the bolts and all were torqued within spec. I pulled the cover, cleaned the old sealer off and installed new sealer and replaced the cover. No more leak and no more low oil so I know I haven't got a burner and it was just the cover.

 

damn i hope thats mine... im replacing the gasket wednesday, i cleaned my bike today and gave it a good hard rev in my garage to wake up my roomate and seen a nice puff of black smoke at high rpm... I have a wrenching in my gut....

 

do you have case savers on your bike? when i bought mine it had some carbon fiber ones took them off and havent leaked oil since

 

Oil leak left side 2012 CBR 1000 rr

While on lift to change back tire, friend notices leak at bottom of left side engine cover. Bolts on cover are tight. Bike is 2012 with 4,700 miles. Any suggestions, or anyone with similar issues and how did you deal with it?

I have a 12' that had the same issue. It was the liquid gasket that honda uses. The dealer pulled the case off, cleaned it out, replaced with a new seal and haven't had an issue since.

 

I seem to have what looks like and oil leak coming from Allen wrench bolt right next to oil filter any one else have same problem or know of this?

 

Holy crap. you guys are making me wanna run out to the garage and check my baby. Mine is a 2011, and it burns a little oil when I take it to the track, so Usually add an extra ounce. above the fill line, when I change the oil. never had a problem with it leaking. I'll check it tomorrow.
