so i just got a gopro hd. looking for advice on where the best spots to mount them on the bike. it came with 3 flat mounts and 2 curves. Looking for best spots for trackdays. all i could think of was the tail section and below the front windscreen. anywhere else? thanks guys

I mounted mine on the tail-section and got bad vibration. The tank is really smooth, just use it behind a clear screen. The deal about track-day/safety-wire is a good point though. Speaking from experience, it's easy to bump the mode selector off of video mode to say, still shot mode. Start that joker once and let it go, or stop each time to cycle power off/on.

vibration = bad video

obvious, but when I first installed my GoPro HD, I had no idea how bad the vibration was from certain areas of the bike.

I have found the best front video places for me are on top of the tank as close to the front as you can get, or I actually use a "techmount" that fits into the steering post.

I also got some good video using a "roll cage" mount on my frame sliders. (I had the long shogun sliders)

have not setup anything on the rear as of yet.

thanks guys. so i mounted one on my tail and one on the front of my bike. the problem is that i'm getting vibration noises from the mount itself. like it shakes a bit and you can actually hear it in the videos while its clipped in the mount. are you guys getting this as well? sorry if its a bit difficult to understand. thank you all

mounted mine on the triple tree and rear peg. making sure the camera benefits from the bike suspension. i like the front mount the best, you can get a better feel of being there. the rear view looses that effect. any elevation changes seem lost in a rear view also. on the triple tree puts the camera behind the wind screen for better protection but it is far enough forward to be out of your way.

i used duct tape as a buffer and to tighten up the spacing in the mount.

safety line is not a bad idea either.

good luck with it, post up some stuff we can see.

Heading to MSR Houston tomorrow for a trackday. Got the GoPro mounted on the OEM hugger for some rear facing shots. Anyone ever put one there before? Any issues with mounting it there?
